Seriti Resources Opens New Coal Mine in South Africa

Mining firm Seriti Resources has launched the Naudesbank Colliery, a new coal mine located in the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality of Mpumalanga Province in South Africa.

Seriti Resources has invested R500 million in developing the mine and associated infrastructure. The Naudesbank Colliery holds two separate mining rights, covering Portion 9 and Main Mine.

The project is expected to generate 300 jobs and falls part of efforts by Seriti Resources to stimulate economic growth and job creation in South Africa.

“Coal remains a vital component of South Africa’s energy mix and export economy, and this project strengthens our ability to supply high-quality coal while at the same time creating jobs and contributing to the local economy,” stated Mike Teke, Group CEO, Seriti Resources.
