Argeo Completes Offshore Works at Namibia’s Venus Project

Offshore service provider Argeo has completed deepwater works at the TotalEnergies-led Venus project in Block 2913B in Namibia . The company demobilized the Argeo Venture in Walvis Bay, following 10 months spent delivering 7,000-line km of AUV geophysical data and 200 geotechnical samples at the project.
The Argeo Venture was initially contracted TotalEnergies in 2024 under a $39 million deal. Following upgrades, the vessel departed for Namibia’s Orange Basin where it provided deepwater services in water depths exceeding 3,000 m. While the contract took longer than expected, owing to weather challenges and longer yard-stays, the vessel has completed the requisite geophysical work.
The Venus project targets a final investment decision in 2026, with first oil expected in 2029 or 2030.
