ALEXKOR Set To Brief The Mineral And Petroleum Resources Committee On Its Business

The company was established in terms of the Alexkor Limited Act of 1992 as a listed schedule 2 public entity wholly owned by the government, with the Minister of Public Enterprises being the shareholder representative.
Alexkor's core business is the mining of diamonds on land, along rivers, on beaches and in the sea along the north-west coast of South Africa. These activities are complemented by geology, exploration, ore reserve planning, rehabilitation and environmental management.
Meanwhile, the committee will also consider and adopt the
stakeholder engagement report. On 17 September 2024, the committee engaged with
18 stakeholders in the mining and petroleum sectors, including organised
labour. The purpose of the stakeholder engagement session was to capacitate the
committee on the challenges stakeholders are experiencing in their respective
sectors, as well as stakeholders' expectations of the committee.
