Namibia: Galp Confirms Light Oil, Gas-Condensate at Mopane-1A
The well, spudded on October 23, encountered light oil and gas-condensate in high-quality reservoir sands, characterized by good porosities, high permeabilities and high pressures. The analysis also confirmed low oil viscosity, minimal CO2 levels and an absence of H2S.
These results, combined with data from the Mopane-1X and Mopane-2X wells, reinforce the extension and quality of the AVO-1 prospect. Upcoming activities include further exploration and appraisal wells and a high-resolution proprietary 3D seismic campaign scheduled to commence in December 2024.
