Emirates Gold Joins Mining in Motion as Bronze Plus Sponsor

By: Energy capital & power

UAE-based precious metals refinery Emirates Gold has joined the upcoming Mining in Motion summit as a Bronze Plus Sponsor. Taking place June 2–4, 2025, in Accra, the event represents the country’s premier gathering for the mining sector. Emirates Gold’s sponsorship underscores a commitment to deepening partnerships between the UAE and Ghana in the gold industry.

As one of the UAE’s largest gold refiners and a key player in the global precious metals industry, Emirates Gold offers significant expertise in gold refining and infrastructure development. The company specializes in refining, bullion trading, smelting, assaying and minting of previous metals. With only one operating gold refinery – Royal Ghana Gold Refinery -, Ghana stands to benefit from this expertise while strengthening mineral ties with the UAE.

In recent years, the UAE has become increasingly instrumental in Ghana’s gold sector. In 2024, the emirates alongside Switzerland emerged as the top export destination for Ghana’s gold, accounting for 36.5% of total exports.

Beyond trade, UAE investments have been vital in supporting Ghana’s upstream mining growth. Major operations such as the Bibiani and Chirano gold mines benefit from UAE-backed funding and technical expertise. As Ghana continues its drive to add value to its gold resources through local refining – spearheaded by the Royal Ghana Gold Refinery – cooperation with experienced international refiners such as Emirates Gold is imperative to enhance the downstream sector and adopt global best practices.

For Emirates Gold, Mining in Motion provides an ideal platform to assess the local market, explore potential investment prospects, establish trading and supply partnerships while deepening collaboration with both public and private sector stakeholders in Ghana. As a Bronze Plus Sponsor, Emirates Gold will have access to high-level panel discussions, exclusive networking sessions and a platform to present its innovative services and investment strategies across the West African market.

Mining in Motion is organized by the Ashanti Green Initiative under the leadership of Oheneba Kwaku Duah, Prince of Ghana’s Ashanti Kingdom, and is hosted in partnership with the World Bank and the World Gold Council. The 2025 summit will convene under the theme: Sustainable Mining & Local Growth – Leveraging Resources for Global Impact, uniting Ghana with its global partners to discuss the future of mining.
