The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project has reached a key milestone with the first delivery of coated line pipes to Uganda’s Kyotera District. The 1,443-kilometer pipeline will transport crude oil from Uganda’s Hoima Terminal to Tanzania’s Tanga Port for export. The project has received 800 kilometers of pipes, currently being coated in Tanzania. EACOP aims to minimize environmental impact by using renewable energy, with Uganda’s section powered entirely by solar and hydro.
